She defies the size zero ideal of beauty with her vivacious curves, but Salma Hayek claims she didn't always have the womanly figure she is recognised for now.
The Mexican actress, 45, appeared on The Graham Norton Show to promote new film Puss In Boots, yet conversation soon turned to her insecurities growing up.
Looking sophisticated in fishnets, together with a black and white ensemble, Hayek revealed she even turned to Christ in a bid to boost her assets.
Not always so confident: During an interview on The Graham Norton Show, Salma Hayek said she once prayed to Jesus for bigger breasts
She said: 'I was the youngest in class and all these girls were starting to get them (breasts) and I wasn’t getting anything - I was really scared.
Vivacious: Salma is famed for her curves
'I was getting teased a lot because everyone was older and I was the skinny tomboy.'
Salma added: 'I went to a church that had a saint that was supposed to do a lot of miracles.
'I put my hands in the holy water and went: "Please Jesus give me some boobs."'
She described her character Kitty Softpaws as 'saucy and cheeky', saying: 'I found it hard to pronounce her name.
'I called her "Kitty Soft Porn". It was difficult at first, but now I am used to the words.'
The mother-of-one also revealed she barely spoke the language when she arrived in the US.
Salma confessed: 'I was upset by one review because it said, "Salma Hayek, bombshell".
'I thought they meant the movie bombed because it was so bad.'
Spanish co-star Antonio Banderas, 51, who also appeared on the BBC One show with Hayek, had similar difficulties during the start of his career.
He said: 'I went to London to meet the director and I could not speak English, he was talking to me and I didn’t understand a thing... then eventually I learnt a line that was the key to my career.
Let battle commence: Antonio Banderas prepares for a sword fight with the host
A little light relief: Antonio and Chris Martin of Coldplay share a joke
'I said, "I can do that," and he actually believed it.'
Banderas added: 'It is odd. I came to America without speaking the language when I was 31 so the fact they call me just for the use of my voice is weird.'

Talk to the hand, 'cause the face ain't listening: Salma offers a palm to Jimmy as she looks unimpressed
Naughty boy! Antonio gives Jimmy a telling off as he wags his finger at him
During the episode, Antonio shows off his swashbuckling skills as he gives Graham a lesson in the finer points of swordsmanship and shows off some fancy footwork.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin and Jimmy Carr will also feature on The Graham Norton Show tomorrow night at 10.35pm on BBC One.
