The champagne would have been flowing freely as they embarked on their first night as popstars at The X Factor aftershow held at the five star Corinthia Hotel in central London.

But with chart success comes hard work - and Little Mix were no doubt nursing hangovers as they woke up at the crack of dawn today for their first post-show interview.

By 7am, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jesy Nelson and Jade Thirlwall had already tweeted that they were at the Daybreak studio ready for their chat with Kate Garraway.

They wrote: '@daybreak getting made up for the show. It's too early! Thanks so much for all your support #littlemixers we love you.'

During their conversation with Garraway, Essex girl Nelson said their victory had not yet sunk in, revealing: 'I don't think it is ever going to sink in. Every week, we prepared ourselves to go out.'

Pinnock, 19, added: 'When he (Dermot O'Leary) said Little Mix, it was "My gosh, this is just insane!"'

Last night, the quartet made history as the first girlband ever to triumph on Simon Cowell's series.

The Syco boss was busy tweeting his support for the girls, despite not starring on the panel this year, saying: 'Congratulations to @LIttleMixOffic. And Paula as you can see, groups can win this show!

He added: 'I was really hoping a group would win this year. @OfficialTulisa has done a great job. These girls could be stars.'

Following their stint on Daybreak, the girls also visited the famous sofa of This Morning and Lorraine.

Jade told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that they had spent time with their loved ones after winning the competition, before heading to bed in preparation of their busy day.

She said: 'We got a nice little cuddle from our mums, spoke to Tulisa and then went to bed.'

Leigh-Anne added: 'From the beginning, I never really saw myself in a girlband. I didn't want to be in one. Then they put me in one and I could not be on my own now.'

The redhead also revealed they had received flowers from a certain lady called Geri Halliwell and credited Tulisa as 'the most amazing person' who they 'wouldn't have got this far' without.

While Perrie and Leigh-Anne remained in their stage costumes last night, baby of the group Jade, 18, slipped into jeans, a red puffer jacket and Ugg boots after initially performing in a festive dress.

Jesy, 20, also switched outfits, changing out of her gold leggings in favour of leopard print.

Mentor Tulisa Contostavlos continued to show her support for her 'Little Muffins', attending the party.
She too changed out of her awkward attire that proved difficult to walk in and squeeze into her judging seat, by opting for a simple navy frock with black Mary Janes.
The N-Dubz beauty also had her say on Twitter, writing: 'I know its cheese but I swear down,2nit (sic) has shown me, if u really believe in sumin n want it bad enough it can happen,u just need 2 believe.

Obviously there weren't enough canapes at the party, as she later said: 'what do ya do after ur act wins the xfactor?...go 2 ur local kebab shop of course, wooooiiiiii....LOVE U #LITTLEMIX keep it real.'
Little Mix's debut single Cannonball is expected to be the Christmas No1, although excitement is already brewing that the girls may record a duet with Tulisa.

The 23-year-old revealed on The Xtra Factor: 'There’s been talks but I’m not one hundred per cent. I would love to do this and when I release my album we might re-record that as a single and put it on.'

During the final, each judge joined their remaining act for a duet, with Tulisa and the band singing a mash-up of Alicia Keys songs If I Ain't Got You and Empire State Of Mind.

This morning Jesy's mother said that her daughter's band winning 'felt like a dream.'

The police community support officer from Canvey Island, Essex, said: "I woke up this morning and had to ask myself, "am I dreaming or did Little Mix really win The X Factor last night?".

'The best part of it all isn't the winning, it's the positive comments that the girls have had from their fans.

'They are four ordinary girls but they have had so many letters from teenage girls and boys telling them how inspiring they have been.'

She added: 'I think one of the things Jesy's most excited about is meeting Simon Cowell. Apparently, he really likes Little Mix and she's desperate to meet him.'

Runner-up Marcus Collins put on a brave face as he attended the swish venue, with Craig Colton offering some consolation squeezes.

The Liverpudlian hairdresser, 23, still has high hopes for his career, despite not winning, tweeting: 'Thank you so much to all those who supported me. I'm sure I'll be seeing you all very soon!!xxxx'

In keeping with her pink theme, teenager Amelia Lily clutched a bright neon bag despite losing the candyfloss tint and going back to her peroxide locks.

The 17-year-old reached the final and performed with Kelly Rowland on Saturday night, but was eliminated from the competition leaving just Marcus and Little Mix to sing last night.

However, the Destiny's Child star didn't materialise last night at the party.

She was criticised on Saturday for abandoning Lily at a crucial time and rushing out of the X Factor studio to support her favourite contestant Misha B during her first live show at G-A-Y.

The Xtra hosts Olly Murs and Caroline Flack joined in the festivities, with 32-year-old Flack deflecting attention from her romance with One Direction star Harry Styles, 17, by attending with a male friend.

Westlife stars Nicky Byrne and Shane Filan donned their leather jackets to mingle with the reality stars, having taken to the stage at Wembley to bid farewell to fans as they go their separate ways.
