A racy animal print number would have perhaps been an altogether too obvious choice of attire.

As such, a walk on the wild side was not on the menu for Scarlett Johansson tonight as attended the New York premiere of her movie, We Bought A Zoo, in a classic black dress.

The below-the-knee ensemble kept the 27-year-old star's legs mostly under wraps - although she did give the smallest flash of her stomach and décolletage in the sleeveless, cutaway number.

Scroll down to see the trailer...

Scarlett looked stunning as she arrived to the Ziegfeld Theatre with her hair worn in an updo and completing her look with a pair of peep-toe heels.

Earlier in the day, the actress - who is divorced from actor Ryan Reynolds, was out in the Big Apple to promote the film.

Appearing on the Today show Johansson talked to host Matt Lauer about her difficult year.

Scarlett said her divorce from Reynolds and the leaking of private nude photographs across the internet - after a hacker cracked into her cell phone - had taught her a lot.

'I've been really fortunate. I've found that I had, even in times of crisis, a lot of love around me, and people have come out of all different dark corners to support me,' she said.

'That's been a really beautiful thing. And I think I've also learned to be much more tolerant and much more patient.'

Scarlett also told Lauer that keeping busy working on films had proved to be just what she needed.

'There's a community on film sets and in this industry. It would seem kind of cut-throat, but for me, I've been in the industry for 20 years and it has that familial kind of feel,' the Lost In Translation star explained.

'When I'm working I can't focus on anything but the job at hand, and I think that's some kind of therapy.'

Johansson stars in comedy-drama We Bought a Zoo alongside Matt Damon, Thomas Haden Church, Colin Ford, Desi Lydic, Patrick Fugit, and Elle Fanning.

The Cameron Crowe-directed movie is based on the memoir by Benjamin Mee, which chronicles how the author and his family spent their life savings to buy Dartmoor Zoological Park - a rundown zoo in the English countryside which homed 200 exotic animals facing extinction.

While it takes inspiration from the British story, the movie is set in Southern California.

It is set for release on December 23 in U.S. and March 16 in the UK.

They are two of the most famous sisters in Hollywood with equal beauty and talent.

And teen siblings Dakota and Elle Fanning have teamed up for a beautiful pictorial for the latest edition of W Magazine where they talk about their careers and boys.

Dakota, 17, and 13-year-old Elle grace the cover wearing gold but looked glowing and ethereal in the image.

The gorgeous girls posed for photographer Mario Sorrenti in a variety of set ups.

One image shows Elle whispering into her big sister's ear as if telling a much guarded secret.

Although she's the younger sibling, Elle towers over her sister and touches up her lipstick in a striking black and white shot.

In another monochrome image, the sisters get dressed up in pencil skirts and top their long blonde manes with boater hats as they strike a pose while hugging each other.

During the interview, Elle talks about her relationship with Dakota and how she feels now that the War of the Worlds star has gone off to college.

'She is a nice older sister. But it's not like we always get along,' Elle shared about their typical sibling conflicts but says that she missing Dakota now that they no longer live together.

'Now that she's going to college, it's different. I went into her room in California, and all her clothes were gone!

'Her closet was empty! I don't get to go in there and steal clothes anymore. It's really strange. It's sort of like she's off making a movie, but this time she's not coming back.'

Elle also opened up about her first love scene with a boy in Super 8.

'I didn't have to kiss him. But it was a boy-girl scene, and we had to like each other in the movie,' Elle shared. 'All the boys made fun of us because we had to like each other.'

Meanwhile, Dakota shared why she decided to enroll in college rather than just focusing 100% on her acting career.

'For the same reasons I wanted to go to a high school,' she said.

'You hear people say, 'Oh when I was in high school' or 'When I was in college.' That defines a lot of who people are, and I didn't want to miss out on that.'

But she says that she is not having the typical collegiate living situation and actually has her mother staying with her for a while as her roommate.

'She's teaching me how to wash clothes and such,' Dakota revealed. 'But I'm so excited to be on my own. In my house in L.A., we all feel that everything is everybody's and so doors are never really closed.

'My sister and I share a bathroom, and when you have a sibling, nothing is actually your own. I've never really had anything or any place that was just mine.'

Dakota added that she is trying to stay grounded despite becoming famous at such a young age.

However, the young starlet was recently embroiled in controversy after her perfume advertisement for Marc Jacobs was banned in the UK for 'sexualising a child.'

The actress looked younger in the magazine ad for 'Oh Lola!', where she was pictured sitting on the floor with the perfume bottle between her thighs.

The Advertising Standards Authority said that the 'length of her dress, her leg and position of the perfume bottle drew attention to her sexuality.'

They added that although Dakota is 17, she looked younger than that and the ad could be seen to sexualise a child.
