Behind the scenes snaps of Rihanna's racy lingerie campaign

Up close and intimate: Behind the scenes snaps of Rihanna's racy lingerie campaign

She followed in the footsteps of Megan Fox and stripped off to show her incredible figure for Armani’s recent lingerie campaign.

While the photos of Rihanna reclining in the delicate underwear were seductive and stunning in equal measure, they gave little away about the singer’s playful personality.

Now, behind-the-scenes shots of Barbadian beauty have been released and Rihanna is seen preparing for the shoot, joking with the film crew and flirting with the camera showing off a new bleached blonde crop.

SCROLL DOWN FOR VIDEO...

The photos, which show the singer on location in New York filming the campaign video shot by Stephen Klein and directed Johan Renck, show the 23-year-old taking direction and putting her own spin on the proceedings.

The shoot, which saw Rihanna model the Fall/ Winter 2011 range for of lingerie and jeans for the designer, was particularly notable because Rihanna was showing of a totally new look.

In an accompanying video to match the photos the We Found Love singer speaks about going from red head to bright blonde.

She explained: 'We did a whole transformation so now I’m a blonde and not a red head anymore… and I like it.'
The bright blonde crop provided the perfect contrast to her tanned skin and looked incredible in the black and white photos of the campaign.
The snaps also show the sheer preparation that goes into the shoot from the camera crews to the wardrobe department perfecting the last stitch on the outfits.
As well as taking direction from crew members Rihanna is also seen being primped and preened ahead of going in front of the camera.

Rihanna fights aliens at sea in the new trailer for Battleship

She's out of this world! Rihanna fights aliens at sea in the new trailer for Battleship

When the highly-anticipated teaser trailer for blockbuster Battleship landed in July, Rihanna's fans were disappointed with the singer's 'blink and you'll miss it' cameo.

Their excitement to see the singer in her debut film role will be satiated though, with the new full-length trailer, which was released today.

Rihanna is given far more air time in the second preview, but with her short hair and naval uniform she is barely recognisable.

Gone are the sexy outfits and bright red hair as she takes on a serious persona as FBI espionage agent Raikes in the navy film.

The 23-year-old stars alongside Liam Neeson, Alexander Skaarsgard, Brooklyn Decker and Taylor Kitsch.

The film sees a group of international navy ships come under attack from an alien enemy during an 'international naval war games.'

In the preview Rihanna is flummoxed by the sudden attack. 'Is this an exercise?' she asks as the unknown threat attacks the US ship.

We see her go into battle, shooting at the enemy with a machine gun from a small speed boat.
She warns: 'My dad said they'd come. He said we ain't alone. He said one day w'd find them, or they'd find us.'

Early online reviews of the trailer have overwhelmingly labelled Battleship as 'Transformers at sea,' and the majority have been scathing.

Rihanna is to go by her birth name Robyn Fenty for her big screen debut.

The What's My Name singer said in an interview recently: 'I love doing movies now. It's something I want to do more of.

'I just want to pick films that are wise for me and roles that I can pull off, nothing that is too big for me.
Battleship is released in UK cinemas on April 20, 2012 and in the US on May 18, 2012.

The current queen of pop made a return to the Jingle Bell Ball in London and was back to her old tricks.

Rihanna unveiled a new blonde hairstyle which looked like it may have been a wig as she closed day one of the festive concert yesterday.

The We Found Love singer performed a set full of hits at the O2 Arena and strutted around the stage scantily dressed.

Riri wore a pair of extra tiny black shorts with fishnet tights and a houndstooth wrap hanging from her waist.

She managed to stay on her feet despite rocking an extremely high pair of black ankle boots.

The 23-year-old flashed her midriff as she gyrated across the stage and entertained the audience.

The host for the event was radio presenter Lisa Snowdon.

The model wore an orange dress that also had a cape attached to it.

She held the whole day together and introduced all of the acts before they took to the stage.

Olly, who had to rush off to present Xtra Factor, had tweeted about his busy schedule earlier in the day and said: 'Arrived back in London!! HUGE Day ahead!! Am doing @CapitalOfficial Jingle Bell Ball tonight!! Opening show then back for XTRA Factor!! (sic).'

American singer Jason Derulo was next up and he performed a selection of his best selling singles in a glittery silver jacket.

A Clockwork Blonde: Chameleon Rihanna's latest look is a little familiar

A Clockwork Blonde: Chameleon Rihanna's latest look is a little familiar

  • Nominated for four Grammy Awards

She's constantly trying out new looks and credited with sparking trends. But Rihanna's latest guise feels a little familiar.

The singer, 23, was pictured on the set of the music video for her upcoming single You Da One wearing a chin-length blonde wig.

But it was her bowler hat and the exaggerated bottom lashes beneath her right eye that appeared to have been inspired by cult classic A Clockwork Orange.

Rihanna found time in her relentless touring schedule to film the clip in London yesterday, ahead of her performance tonight at the O2 Arena.

The superstar singer, who is currently topping the UK charts with her single Talk That Talk, danced for the cameras in front of a pink wall and rickety red armchair, using a black cane as a prop.

Rihanna was dressed in a typically punk meets provocative outfit of denim cut-off shorts with a rip in the behind and backless white top with suspenders.

She also wore black printed leggings with 'boy' emblazoned on them and white leather boots.

The singer will play in Manchester on Friday night before leaving on a tour of Europe, returning for three extra London shows just before Christmas.

It was reported this week that Rihanna had sought advice from Beyoncé after her intense touring schedule left her at breaking point.

The Sun claimed that the Barbadian star made a tearful phone call to the fellow performer to ask for some guidance in handling her workload.

But all of Rihanna's hard work was rewarded last night, when it emerged that she has received four Grammy Award nominations.

At the nominations announcement event last night, it was announced that she will be up for Best Rap Collaboration, Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album at the February ceremony.
