They may sing different styles of music but Sir Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue will now go head-to-head with their talent.
The singers have been confirmed as the final two judges to appear on upcoming reality TV singing competition The Voice.
Jones and O'Donoghue will take their places on the panel alongside British singer Jessie J and U.S. star will.i.am.
Singing legend: Tom Jones has been confirmed as a judge on BBC1's singing talent show The Voice
Singing legend Jones, who has a career spanning over 40 years, is particularly looking forward to his new role.
'I’m excited about The Voice, and thrilled to be participating as a Coach,' he said.
'This is a strong show; it’s all about talent, but it’s also exciting, competitive and compelling television. I’ve been blessed over the years to share the stage with some of the worlds finest artists, and I look forward to being part of the team that discovers a great, new, genuine talent.'
The Welsh singer is certainly equipped to judge a variety of contestants having sung nearly every form of popular music since the 1960's.
Looking forward: The Script front man Danny O'Donoghue is the fourth judge to join the highly-anticipated show
O'Donoghue has also had quite a bit of experience in the music industry, even before his band The Script shot to fame with their self-titled debut album in 2008.
The Irish singer/songwriter was a member of an Eamonn Maguire managed band called Mytown in the late nineties, and he has also worked as a record producer in the U.S.
O'Donoghue is already familiar with the show - which first aired in the Netherlands last year under the name The Voice of Holland.
'In it to win it': O'Donoghue has enjoyed success in the form of a number one album with his band The Script
'I'm a massive fan of The Voice, so to be involved as a coach is amazing,' he said.
'This is a show unlike any other because it puts vocal ability first above all else. I look forward to putting my team together and battling it out with the other coaches to see who wins this unique, credible competition. I'm in it to win it!'
He'll certainly have a tough job on his hands being up against Jessie J and will.i.am.
Familiar with the format: Black Eyed Peas singer will.i.am has appeared on rival show the X Factor but now he will sit on the panel for BBC1
Both artists have appeared on the X Factor as words of wisdom for judges, and no doubt will be equally as competitive.
'I'm proud to be doing The Voice UK because the UK was the first place I saw success,' said The Black Eyed Peas singer, who is close friends with Cheryl Cole.
'It’s the place I'm the most creative outside of home.'
The show has done exceptionally well in the U.S. where it was marketed as a rival of the X Factor.
The U.S version sees Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton as mentors who blindly select and judge the contestants based solely on their voice.
Ready to rock: Jessie J was the first judge to be confirmed for The Voice
The BBC are no doubt hoping to rival the UK version of the X Factor as well, with BBC One Controller Danny Cohen, saying: 'I'm delighted to be announcing Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue as Coaches for The Voice.
'Tom is a music legend and will bring huge experience and creativity to the line-up. Danny is a rising star who will bring freshness and surprise to the team.
'Overall, our line-up of Tom Jones, Jessie J, will.i.am and Danny O'Donoghue gives us mega-star quality, great musical range and musicians we know our audience love.'
The Voice is expected to hit the small screen in Spring 2012 and This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby will present the show alongside Reggie Yates.
